감각은 허상이다.
우리가 받아들이는 감각 정보는 감각기관 수용체를 통해서만 얻을 수 있고, 뇌의 가공 과정을 거쳐서 최종적으로 받아들여진다. 이것은 불온하게 복제된 경험이고, 재해석된 연극이다. 책은 감각에 특수효과가 입혀지기 이전, 무대의 뒤에서 일어나는 일들을 보여준다. 크로마키 바디 슈트를 입고 오감을 연기하는 배우들의 정체를 드러내는 것부터 시작해서, 몇 가지 사례를 들어 그들이 현실을 왜곡하는 방식을 알려주었으며, 감각기관이 위치하고 있는 신체의 형상 또한 허상임을 밝히며 끝맺었다. 이번 프로젝트를 통해 당연시 보고 느끼며 판단하던 것들의 불확실성에 대해 생각하는 시간을 가질 수 있기를 희망한다.
Sense is an Illusion.
The sensory information we perceive can only be obtained through sensory receptors and ultimately processed by the brain. This is an impurely replicated experience, a reinterpreted drama. Before books are enhanced with sensory effects, they reveal what happens behind the scenes. Starting with exposing the identities of actors simulating senses while wearing chroma key body suits, several examples were given to illustrate how they distort reality, and it concluded by highlighting the illusory nature of the body's form where sensory organs are located. Through this project, it is hoped that there will be time to contemplate the uncertainty of things that were previously taken for granted in seeing, feeling, and judging.
